Dental Relocation & Infrastructure Support Scheme (DRISS)

The Dental Relocation and Infrastructure Support Scheme (DRISS) was designed to help improve dental workforce distribution and service delivery in rural and remote areas.

The Department of Health has advised RHWA that DRISS has ceased and no further DRISS grant opportunities are available.

This decision follows a rationalisation of workforce programs by the Department to ensure funding is directed to initiatives that deliver the best outcome for communities lacking access to health services.

Our advice is that the Department is currently considering a range of other mechanisms to better support the distribution of the dental workforce especially in rural and remote areas.

Any further inquiries regarding rural dental workforce support should be directed to the National Delivery Branch, Department of Health, via email
