Additional Assistance Scheme (Fellowship exam support program)

Hundreds of Overseas Trained Doctors have benefited from the Additional Assistance Scheme managed by Rural Health Workforce Australia and delivered by the Rural Workforce Agencies.

It provides education assistance for eligible Overseas Trained Doctors who are seeking Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).

Participating doctors are given a tailored individual learning program, which includes continuing medical education.

Each doctor then takes part in courses, training and pre-exam workshops to help them achieve Fellowship.

Fellowship support is available for doctors who are enrolled in either the 5 Year OTD Scheme or the Rural Locum Relief Program.

Funding is restricted and an application must be made through one of the State or Territory Rural Workforce Agencies
