Rural Locum Relief Program
The Rural Locum Relief Program allows doctors who are permanent residents or Australian citizens to access a Medicare provider number to work in rural and remote areas while they are working towards GP Fellowship.
It particularly applies to Overseas Trained Doctors who have not yet attained Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
The program enables Overseas Trained Doctors and Australian Trained Doctors without Fellowship to provide General Practitioner services in rural and remote areas for which Medicare rebates are available.
