ProjectsRural Health Workforce Australia has a number of projects which contribute significantly to Rural Health Workforce Australia's vision of 'a health workforce providing accessible, quality health care services in rural and remote Australia'. Our first strategic priority is Making General Practice viable in rural and remote Australia. To deliver on this priority we are piloting the delivery of Business Support Services to rural and remote GP practices. We also manage the Rural GP Locum Program. We are also focussed on attracting more health professionals into rural and remote general practice through our Seachange, Treechange, Lifestyle Change campaign. Our second strategic priority is Supporting international graduates to live and work in rural and remote Australia. To deliver on this priority we nationally manage the International Recruitment Strategy which provides a free recruitment service to rural and remote general practices for the complex recruitment activities required to recruit an IMG. We also manage The 5 Year Scheme and the Rural GP Temporary Placement Scheme which are the mechnisms to allow International Medical Graduates to work in rural and remote general practice. We also nationally manage the Fellowship Support Program (also known as the Additional Assistance Program) which provides case management and funding for IMGs to enable them to access education with the aim of achieving Fellowship of RACGP OR ACRRM. Our third strategic priority is Ensuring that future health professionals are attracted to rural and remote health careers. Our flagship program for this priority is the National Rural Health Students' Network which targets students studying towards health careers at university and high school. |
